DPR Construction streamlines the documentation process internally, saving time and budget

The Challenge

Alex Leckszas, and Breanna Rimbach, Project Engineers with DPR Construction, needed to get better internal control of their visual documentation processes.

Due to fluctuating schedules, and the need for immediate access to images, they were struggling with using third-party documentation platforms. With those platforms, they were only receiving static images, which were 2D and difficult to understand what they were looking at. Also, images that were taken were not organized by section of the job, only by when the picture was taken. Once they reached out to their Technology Team to look for a solution to streamline the process internally, they were introduced to StructionSite.

Saving cost with a digital job site

By using StructionSite, the team at DPR was able to reduce their costs from using a third-party documentation service, keep control of the schedule on their terms, and organize the data in a way that made sense to them and the owner. “Our cost savings was a benefit. Other third-party companies are much more expensive, they will complete the documentation for you, but it is significantly higher cost,” said Alek Leckszas, Project Engineer with DPR. “It’s an hour a week for us to go out and take images of the job site, and we have that information and are in control of that on our schedule.” Overall the team at DPR has found that StructionSite provides value to their team, and to all of the stakeholders on the project, and at a significantly lower cost.
